VILLA LA DESIATA
MIASINO
Villa La Desiata is one of the historic residences on Lake Orta. Built in 1875 for Agostino Bertani, patriotic politician and Garibaldi’s personal physician, the residence appears in eclectic art-nouveau style. The recent renovation work involved the façade and the beautiful central staircase. The building’s volume was slightly extended in order to provide a glazed kitchen area. In the basement, a private cellar with adjacent tasting room was created.
The garden design by Anna Regge focussed on recreating the park-like atmosphere of Lake Orta’s turn of the century residences.
